A few more pictures....

I think I am a very proud dog owner, so please excuse that. I'm sure you all will get tired of seeing picture after picture of Remedy, but here are some more anyway! :)

In this last picture, I call her a little snowmonster. She loves the snow and she loves chasing and searching for her ball even if it is hidden deep in the snow. If you look closely, you'll see she has snow all over her face.

Spring Break

In March, my Dad was able to come visit for a short Spring Break trip.

The way ski gear adds up, you'd think we were packing for a month!

Dad on Coppertone, a trail at Copper Mountain

Somehow, we managed to ski on two really overcast, cold days, with one nice sunny day in the middle when we were resting. BRRR...

Dad got to meet Remedy and Remedy enjoyed rolling around on the carpet. (We only have wood and concrete and linoleum at home.)

Welcome REMEDY!

In early February we expanded our family by adopting Remedy from the Denver Dumb Friends League. They didn't know much about her, but she was about 1 1/2 years old and is a Border Collie. According to what we have read about Border Collies, we think she is pure bred. Since Border Collies were/are bred as working dogs, not as much attention was paid to trying to get them to have all the same physical features. Some are short-haired; some are long-haired. They can be brown and black and white. She is very smart and loves to learn! She was already house trained and knew how to sit and stay. Both of us are having a blast with her. Here are some pictures of us from February 08 to April 08. Beware, we are very proud dog owners and think we have the best dog in the world. :)

She loves to chase and retrieve her ball and frisbee.

Her first bath at "The Wag Shop."

This picture is for my Mom. When we first got Remedy, my mom wasn't sure what a Border Collie looked like and how big they are (Remedy weighs about 40 lbs). She asked if it was a lap dog. Sure Mom, she's a lap dog. See? :)

Remedy LOVES the snow and is a great dog to have in the mountains.

Aren't those crossed front paws adorable?!

Short hike/geocache trip in Evergreen

Last weekend we did the Royal Arch hike in Boulder and as usual this dog just shows us up! She has so much energy and keeps going and going.

Christmas 2007 part 1

Finally! Christmas pictures!

We had a wonderful season, especially since Jaco's sister and her family were in the States for the holidays.

When they came through Denver on their way out west, we were able to take them sledding for the first time at Ruby Hill Park.

We all met up in St. Louis again for Christmas, and I love this picture from the Starbucks in the Kansas City airport. It's like you can feel the cold weather outside and the holiday warmth within.

We always love going to St. Louis for Christmas because my parents decorate and the place feels very warm and cozy!

Diana and Bill were nice enough to have us all over for Boxing Day dinner!

Christmas 2007 part 2

After Christmas, we were able to spend some time in the mountains together. All NINE of us drove from STL to Denver in my parents' van! That's true togetherness... :)

Jaco & I spent a day showing the kids the basics of snowboarding. Aren't those little boards cute?!? :) The kids are 9 and 11 now.

It was a very cold day, and as you can see, they preferred the hot chocolate.

Everyone but Jaco & Papa & I went to the Broncos game in Denver and they got stuck down in Denver! (I-70 near the Eisenhower Tunnel gets closed when the weather is bad.)

Hierdie is baie sneeu!!

All back together in the mountains...

I guess we are advertising for Under Armour...

It is tradition for my niece and me to take a self-portrait:

"The Ridge" at Loveland... This is part of (or at least very close to) the Continental Divide. The Eisenhower Tunnel actually runs beneath this part of the ski area.

One of Papa's latch-hook rugs completed. Look how proud he looks!!

Final farewell.

Thanks for the memories everyone!!
