ALPACAS

Hello All,

For those of you unfamiliar with Alpacas, here's a link for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpaca

Basically what you need to know is that they come from South America, they are smaller than llamas, their hair is used to make awesome yarn, and they are SO CUTE!!!

My mom retired from teaching this year and came out to visit a couple of weeks ago. During her visit, we went to an alpaca farm just about an hour northeast of Denver. Here are some photos.

And finally, a short video (without audio, sorry).

More hiking!

We have been hiking a fair bit - just some short day hikes to get out and enjoy the fresh air.

Royal Arch hike
in Chautauqua Park near Boulder
(bad first picture sorry!)

Maxwell Falls in Evergreen

Mt. Sanitas trail in Boulder

Jaco and Lex at the top of South Boulder Peak and a great view of the continental divide

Flying Machines

Here are some photos from a few fun Saturdays:
1. A hot air balloon festival in Erie, Colorado AND
2. The Jefferson County Airport open house.

I trust you'll be able to tell which is which.

The Great Outdoors

This spring Jaco & I have been trying to make the most of the great weather we have been having. Here are some photos from some hikes we have done.

Red Rocks Amphitheater
This was in early May. The green side is the east si
de of the ridge we were on and the white/dark side is looking west.

El Dorado Canyon
El Dorado Canyon is supposedly one of the best locations in North America for rock climbing. We took a walk through some nearby fields/open space. I saw my first rattlesnake ever here!
